Privacy Policy
All information recorded in your health records is confidential.
Broadway Radiology Limited (BRL) collects personal and health related information from you and your referrer to enable us to provide our Radiology services to you. We are committed to the protection of information in accordance with The Privacy Act 2020 and The Health Information Privacy Code 2020, which regulate how we can collect, use, hold, disclose, access, correct, manage, and dispose, of your personal information.
Patient records are securely stored in our information systems, and authorised access is allowed only for the purposes of patient management and treatment, including by your referrer.
Your record will only be accessed by the staff who are responsible for the clerical records, and the Radiologist and Technologist who are providing your care. BRL may also utilise information for our own quality improvement, research, and audit, purposes. All personnel in this practice are, by their employment contracts, bound to maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Other health care providers are given your personal health data only when you are being referred for other health advice or services. In order to claim fees from ACC and other funding agencies, some data is given on specially prepared forms. Your information will not be passed on to any other agency unless it is authorised or required to be released by law. BRL conducts regular audits of access to its information systems to ensure our standards are being upheld.
Your images may be able to be viewed by other Health Professionals. These professionals are able to access the digital image storage portal only if they have entered into appropriate access and confidentiality agreements. Once authorised, these professionals can access all patient images and radiologists’ reports held in the PACS (digital image storage) system when required for their own provision of health services.
If you decide to limit access, your images and information may not be available online and we may be unable to provide services in emergency situations. Please contact BRL’s Privacy Officer if you have any questions or wish to discuss this further.
Under the Privacy Act you have the right to have access to your personal information held at this practice via your Medical Practitioner.
